Apple has recently launched its iAd Network.  Steve Jobs has been openly critical about the currently available options for mobile ads. Jobs and Apple  certainly think that the text based Google AdMob ads are garbage and don’t engage the consumer. Apple’s answer: iAd rich media ads that offer a dynamic and powerful new way to bring sight, sound, motion, and emotion into the hands of consumers with full-screen video, audio, games, maps, and more. One nice thing is that iAd rich media ads allow users to interact with advertising without having to leave their app.

So who are the winners here? With the iAd Network, developers now have a new, easy-to-implement source of revenue. Apple sells and serves the ads, and developers receive 60 percent of advertising revenue. Coupling a high payout with more engaging ads could be a big win for publishers and advertisers alike.
The site will do its best to keep you up to date on recent changes to iAds and provide some iAd how-to guides.
