Apple releases iOS SDK and iOS 4.1 beta for iPhones, iPod Touch and iPad devices

Apple has released iOS SDK and iOS 4.1 beta for its developers. They’re available from the iPhone Dev Center. Apps built with iOS SDK 4.1 beta should only be tested on devices running iOS 4.1.

Apple says to make sure to read the Xcode 3.2.4 Readme and the iOS SDK 4.1 beta Release Notes before installing and downloading these new releases. iOS is the operating system formerly known as the iPhone OS.

At this point I’m not sure if release iOS 4.1 fixes the antenna signal strength display issue. Even with Apple’s teflon status, this is still a PR nightmare for them. We are expecting Apple to release a minor update that addresses the iPhone 4 reception problem. Of course with the news from Consumer Reports this may be a hardware issue and if determined accurate we could see a recall.

Of course, we’ll let you know if the first beta version of iPhone OS 4.1 and SDK reveals any interesting new features.
